Born July 30, 1900, in Stevenson, Katherine died from a fever just before her second birthday, on June 6, 1902. Her death was the catalyst for the family's move to Laredo at the urging of Woodie's brother Travis.
Woodie and Nettie's first child, "Jack," was born May 3, 1898, in Stevenson, Ala. She married Edward Brooks, and had Annette Brooks in 1922, Woodie Yaunt Brooks in 1927 and Eddie Brooks in 1930. She died in Laredo on June 13, 1986. Eddie was a journalist who worked for many years on the sports desk of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
